Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Golden Circle and our tours.

The Golden Circle is a roughly 230-kilometre loop east of Reykjavík linking three main stops: Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates pull apart and Iceland's parliament was founded in 930; the Haukadalur geothermal field, where the geyser Strokkur erupts every few minutes; and Gullfoss, where the glacial river Hvítá drops in two stages into a narrow canyon.

Most visitors drive or join a guided tour and complete the loop in a single day. The questions below cover what the route costs, when to go, what to wear for Icelandic weather, and how booking works. Answers are grouped by topic — select a question to open it.
