How a love of Iceland's landscape grew into a small-group and private tour company that never rushes you.
Golden Circle Day Tours was born from a simple conviction: that Iceland's most famous route deserves to be experienced properly.
We had watched too many visitors rush through Þingvellir in 35 minutes aboard a crowded coach, barely scratching the surface of one of the world's most extraordinary places. We were sure there was a better way — one with time, with context, and with a guide who genuinely cares.
So in 2012 we set out to do things differently: a small-group and private tour company built around one promise — we will never rush you, and we will never pack you into a crowd.
More than a decade later, that promise still defines everything we do. We keep our groups small — never more than 19 guests — and for travellers who want the route entirely to themselves, we offer private tours arranged around their own pace and interests. Every departure is led by a local Icelandic guide who knows this landscape, its history, and its quiet corners away from the crowds.
