Cruise days in Reykjavík: the basics

Most cruise ships berth at Skarfabakki, Reykjavík's main cruise terminal in the Sundahöfn harbour area, about 4 km east of the city centre. The Vör passenger terminal there has tourist information, shops, cafés, Wi-Fi and covered waiting areas, and ships dock alongside — no tendering. Smaller ships sometimes dock at the Old Harbour (Miðbakki), right in the city centre by Harpa. We pick up from both: your guide meets you at the terminal with a Golden Circle Day Tours sign, so there is no need to make your own way into town first.

How excursion timing works against all-aboard

Every excursion is planned backwards from your ship's departure. When you book, you share your ship's name, arrival time and departure time; on the day, we track your ship's arrival in real time and adjust the pickup if it runs late. Our Golden Circle itinerary — Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss — is built with a generous buffer, so you are back at the terminal at least 60 minutes before your ship's scheduled departure. That guaranteed-return policy is included with every booking, and a typical Reykjavík port call of 8–10 hours fits the day comfortably.

The schedule is indicative, so always confirm your ship's own times on board, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure if plans change.
