The Extended Golden Circle Experience
Our Full Day Golden Circle Tour takes the classic route and expands it into a comprehensive 10-hour exploration of southwest Iceland. In addition to the three iconic stops, you will visit the striking Kerid volcanic crater and enjoy a unique Icelandic dining experience at either Fridheimar greenhouse or Laugarvatn Fontana geothermal baths.
This tour is ideal for travellers who want to see everything the Golden Circle region has to offer without feeling rushed. With extra time at each location and two bonus stops, you will return to Reykjavik with a deeper understanding of Iceland's geology, history, and culture.
Beyond the Big Three
While Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss are the stars of any Golden Circle tour, the extended route reveals hidden treasures. Kerid volcanic crater is a 3,000-year-old explosion crater with a vivid aquamarine lake at its bottom, surrounded by layers of red, black, and ochre volcanic rock. It is one of the most photogenic spots in Iceland and often missed by shorter tours.
A Taste of Iceland
Depending on the day, your guide will take you to either Fridheimar greenhouse, where you dine among growing tomato plants and enjoy the famous unlimited tomato soup, or Laugarvatn Fontana, where you can watch traditional Icelandic rye bread being baked underground using geothermal heat. Both experiences offer a genuine taste of Icelandic food culture that you simply cannot get elsewhere.
More Time at Every Stop
The extra two hours compared to our standard tour mean you can explore Thingvellir's trails more thoroughly, wait for multiple Strokkur eruptions at Geysir, and walk both the upper and lower platforms at Gullfoss without feeling hurried. Your guide uses the additional time to share deeper stories about each location's history and significance.
