Golden Circle Meets Natural Hot Springs
Why choose between sightseeing and relaxation when you can have both? Our Golden Circle + Secret Lagoon combo tour pairs Iceland's three most iconic natural attractions with a soothing soak in the country's oldest natural swimming pool. It is the perfect blend of adventure and tranquillity.
The Secret Lagoon (Gamla Laugin) in the village of Fludir has been a bathing spot since 1891. Unlike the heavily commercialised Blue Lagoon, the Secret Lagoon retains an authentic, unhurried atmosphere. The water is a constant 38-40 degrees Celsius, fed by natural hot springs, and a small geyser erupts just metres from where you bathe.
The Perfect Day in Iceland
After visiting Thingvellir National Park and walking between tectonic plates, you will ease into the warm waters of the Secret Lagoon. The contrast between the crisp Icelandic air and the naturally heated water is pure bliss. Refreshed and relaxed, you continue to Geysir and Gullfoss with renewed energy.
What Makes the Secret Lagoon Special
The Secret Lagoon is surrounded by geothermal features including a small geyser, steaming vents, and bubbling hot pots. In winter, you may even see the Northern Lights from the pool. The facilities are clean and well-maintained with changing rooms, showers, and a small cafe. The atmosphere is relaxed and social, a far cry from the tourist-heavy Blue Lagoon experience.
Practical Information
Bring your own swimsuit. Towel rental and entry fee are included. The pool is suitable for all ages, though children must be supervised. The tour departs at 08:30 and returns by approximately 18:30.
